Cannaid is a free, ad-supported web app that helps you grow healthier plants and understand what yours is trying to tell you. Snap a photo, answer a few quick questions, and the diagnostic engine points you toward what’s likely going wrong — a nutrient deficiency, a pest, an environmental stress — and what to do about it.
The grow journal at the heart of it
The piece I’m proudest of is the grow journal — and it’s the reason Cannaid exists. Most grow calendars out there are an afterthought: a bare grid you fill in and forget. This one is built the way growers actually work.
Log your waterings and feedings, track each plant from its own spot on the tent floor plan, and watch the whole grow come together on one clean timeline — seedling, veg, the flip to flower, harvest, drying, and cure. It reads your strain and setup to serve timing-aware tips as you go, turns your logged numbers into charts you can actually read, keeps your photos beside the day they were taken, and nudges you when a feeding or task is due. No account needed to start — it lives right in your browser.
Support Cannaid
Here’s the honest version: I built this whole project alone, on no budget, by leaning hard on AI — but let me be clear about who did what. The machine generates the imagery and wrote much of the code. The knowledge underneath, though, is mine: the health library, the articles, what actually goes wrong with a plant and why — my own research, my own years of reading and growing, my own call on what’s true and worth telling. The voice is mine too: I set the style from my own writing, and the machine wrote to match it. I didn’t feed it a topic and publish whatever came back — I’d read this material long before I asked for help, and I only leaned on the machine for the volume one person can’t hand-write alone. And the plant diagnosis isn’t some cloud API bolted on — it runs on a model I trained and fine-tuned myself, on real cannabis photos. Some I took myself, some hand-picked from the web. So yes, one person and a machine — but the machine is the hands, and the head is mine.
