Frisian Dew is Dutch Passion's outdoor flagship — a feminised hybrid that traces its genetics to a cross between a Super Skunk female and a Purple Star male, selectively bred over many generations in Friesland, a northernmost province of the Netherlands where the Frisian language gives the strain its name. The breeding work was done by Shiva, and the result carries genuine hybrid vigor: Sativa genes drive long continuous blooms, Indica genes produce compact buds, and the combination yields one of the most consistent outdoor producers in commercial cannabis. The strain has accumulated real competition hardware — 1st place at the 2008 Highlife Cup in the Netherlands, and more recently 3rd place in the Dutch Hash category at the 2018 Homegrown Cup. She has been a cornerstone of Dutch Passion's Outdoor feminised seed collection for many years and continues to beat newer varieties at the outdoor game with relative ease. Described by users and growers as fruity, fresh, and floral, with terpene variation across phenotypes — some lean toward forest fruits and light lemon, others toward pine and lavender, and a subset express earth, ammonia, and herbal notes that show the Skunk parent influence. The unique terpene profile provides a pleasant smoking experience across the phenotypic range. Roughly 50% of plants produce purple-hued buds in the tops; there are completely green phenotypes and some plants that express pure purple from cola to calyx, and the light purple variant is a particular favorite for taste and potential among Dutch Passion's own team.
