Bisabolol is chamomile and stays light. Nerolidol has wood in it, and it is noticeably heavier in the jar.
View terpeneNerolidol is bark and blossom at the same time. It's in neroli — orange blossom — as well as jasmine, ginger and lemongrass, and it smells like fresh-cut wood with something floral behind it. In cannabis it usually works as a background note, giving depth rather than character.
About Nerolidol
It's a quiet, sleep-leaning one, often mentioned alongside linalool in strains people keep for the evening. Nerolidol also absorbs through skin unusually well and helps other compounds do the same, which is why it turns up in topicals far more than its share of the plant would suggest.
At 122°C / 252°F it's near the bottom of the range, down with humulene and ocimene. Nerolidol goes early and it goes quietly. Because it's a depth note rather than a headline, you never catch it leaving — you just notice the strain smells thinner than you remember.
