The Fruit Bomb genetics themselves are built on Swiss Erdbeer IBL, a landrace originally developed for outdoor growing and known for sweet fruity strawberry flavor. For years Dutch Passion crossed the fruitiest Erdbeer phenotypes with each other to enhance the profile. During one of these selection rounds an Erdbeer was accidentally pollinated by a female clone of (Tangie x Cherry Pie), and the offspring carried exceptional fruitiness with unprecedented trichome production. That accidental hybrid was crossed with a previously discovered fruity headbanger phenotype, and one plant stood out — extremely heavy blooms, solid trichome layer, and a chemically sweet candy-factory aroma. She was backcrossed with Erdbeer IBL for stability, then crossed with Sugar Bomb Punch to shorten flowering time and boost potency. The result is a masterpiece of modern cannabis breeding.
