Royal Gorilla carries the DNA of one of American cannabis's most celebrated happy accidents. The lineage is Sour Dubb x Chem Sis x Chocolate Diesel — the same three-way cross that gave the world GG4 (formerly Gorilla Glue #4) and arguably reshaped what connoisseurs expect from a heavy hybrid. The origin story is close to folklore by now. Two US breeders, Joesy Whales and Lone Watie, were working with Chem Sis plants when they accidentally hermaphrodited and pollinated a nearby Sour Dubb. Joesy initially tossed the seeds. Lone Watie kept a few on an instinct nobody's fully explained, germinated them out of curiosity, and what came up from the soil turned out to be the cut the industry now calls Gorilla. RQS's version of that lineage preserves the character that made the original famous and ships it with the seed-level QA and consistency that come from a major European breeder. The trophy case is real: 1st place at the 2014 Cannabis Cup, 1st in the best hybrid category at the 2015 World Cannabis Cup, plus a 1st in New Strains and a 3rd in Indica at the Highlife Cannabis Cup.

Runtz x Layer Cake is Barney's Farm's cross of the widely-known Runtz genetics with Layer Cake — a balanced 50/50 Indica/Sativa hybrid that produces 28% THC in a genuinely balanced hybrid package. The Runtz side contributes the candy-sweet dessert character that made the Runtz family a modern US classic; Layer Cake brings structural density, compact bud architecture, and additional terpene complexity. The lineage is Skunk #1 crossed with a carefully-chosen Afghan from the resinous hash plant family, and the cross won the Mostly Indica award at the Cannabis Cup shortly after release. The split is 80% indica, 20% sativa — heavy enough to anchor the experience firmly in the body, but with enough sativa component to lift mood and keep lethargy away. The generally accepted account is that the original cross pollinated a Brazilian sativa landrace with an indica from Kerala in southern India — an indica selected over years in the mountain regions specifically for extreme resin production. Whatever the precise pedigree, the plant landed in the Netherlands in the early '90s and became one of the most copied lines in the industry, a template for what frosted, balanced hybrid flower could look like. White Label's White Widow Regular is the budget-tier interpretation of one of Amsterdam's most recognizable hybrids — 65% indica, 35% sativa, and still a coffeeshop mainstay nearly a quarter century after the original release. The strain gets its name from the thick layer of white trichomes that coats mature buds, a feature that signals the dense THC content underneath. Compact plants, high yield potential, and a genetic line that traces back thousands of years make White Widow a strain that has survived every fashion cycle in cannabis genetics since the 1990s.
